CABIN 8 - The Loon's Nest
Location is one of the big advantages of staying in Cabin #8. It is close the parking area, the children’s playground, and the steps to one of the boat docks.
The Common Loon is the Minnesota state bird. They are one of the first birds to return in the spring and the last to leave in the fall. You can spend hours watching them swim in our bay. They are truly extraordinary. Cabin #8, the Loon’s Nest, is a great 2 bedroom cabin. You will find the black and white of the loon offset against a backdrop of green and blue throughout this cabin.
The larger bedroom has a queen sized bed. The second bedroom is furnished with 2 sets of trundle beds. These beds can be made up as 4 single twin sized beds or 1 set can be pushed together and made up as a king sized bed. The added flexibility makes it possible to use this cabin for a variety of groups. There is also a sofa sleeper in the living area but it interferes with other activities so is not often used. Both bedrooms have large windows and ceiling fans to circulate the air. The kitchen has a very workable layout and lots of cupboard space to put away food. If privacy is an issue bedroom doors may be closed and there is screen that may be set up to divide the area with the trundle beds.
This cabin was completed rebuilt from the ground up a few years before cabin #7. It has a great bathroom with tub/shower combination and carpet everywhere except the kitchen and bathroom. Both the kitchen and bathroom have tile floors.
