If you like to fish you have come to the right place. Fishing on Lake Belle Taine is great throughout the summer but most of our serious fishermen (women) prefer late spring and early fall. Kathy and Terry are regular guests who enjoy fishing together. Here is their story:
Grandchildren of Terry and Kathy Burton"We catch fish every time we’re on Lake Belle Taine—and that’s no fisherman’s embellished tale. We’ve caught “keeper” Walleyes (some of the larger ones in the resort’s bay), Northerns trolling the lake’s perimeter, lots of Bass (including one that we initially thought was a snagged log because it was so heavy), and other types of pan fish.
A couple of summers ago, we each caught a good-sized Walleye almost at the same time and had to do some fancy reeling and netting to get both of them safely into the boat.
Any day is a good day if you’re fishing: It’s a great day if you’re on Belle Taine!"
Terry and Kathy Burton
Recently the Minnesota DNR rolled out a new tool to help anglers. They launched a mobile-friendly website that includes all of the complicated rules and regulations for each lake, in one easy-to-understand place. Now you will be able to access a wealth of information on your phone or tablet. It has everything in the rulebook and a whole lot more. The lake finder includes maps, facts and information, and lake-specific fishing regulations. Note you can also purchase your fishing license online.
Are you unsure of where or how to fish Lake Belle Taine. Go Fish! Guide Service is undoubtedly the answer to your angling blues. Jason Durham and many of the guides that work with him fished Lake Belle Taine long before they were old enough to operate a boat with anything more high powered than a set of oars. Guided fishing trips are scheduled in either half-day (4 hours) or full day (8 hours) formats. Everything needed to catch fish is provided for you including rods, reels, bait, and tackle. Jason agrees to pick you up at the appointed time right at the end of the docks at Resort Content. Up to four anglers can board at one time. Call 218-252-2278 to schedule your fishing trip. Sometimes it is possible to arrange a trip with only a few hours notice. However, to ensure a guide is available during your stay at Resort Content, call as soon as possible.
When you meet Jason, who teaches kindergarten in Nevis, you will immediately discover he loves to fish. He is passionate about this sport. Currently, Jason writes a fishing column weekly for the Park Rapids Enterprise and has been featured in Outdoor Life, Field and Stream, In-Fisherman’s Walleye Insider and many regional publications. He also travels to sport shows presenting fishing seminars for both children and adults on a variety of angling topics.
